Here is a copy of an e-mail from an attorney representing the Hendrix estate denying permission to license this song for our CD:
I apologize if I wasn't clear enough in my email to you. Because the lyrics have been either omitted, changed, or added, this recording can not be licensed. I forwarded the lyrics to allow you to compare the recording to the actual lyrics. It's really hard when you have live performances because they are not able to be re-recorded. The Experience Hendrix Board of Directors have strict guidelines regarding mechanical licenses and as a company policy do not allow derivatives.
